RC Crew Chief - Tune your RC car
You'd never guess what goes into some RC cars until you take them apart or use RC Crew Chief. This piece of software lets you simulate various settings for 4WD RC cars, including motor, suspension, roll center and much more. It gives you all the numbers you need, in real time, depending on the changes you make. With all the numbers, charts and graphics, it's as if you were fine-tuning a real race car.
The software is free to try without any serious restrictions. It's compatible with all modern Windows platforms, and it doesn't have any special requirements. You can have it up and running in just a few seconds, without going through a complex setup procedure.
RC Crew Chief provides support for a wide range of on-road and off-road chassis. You can switch between different car models, chassis, batteries and ESC units on the main user interface, and you can also make various tweaks to each of them. These elements are linked together, and the software will reflect your selection through all the statistics you can find on different tabs of the same interface.
You can experiment with a wide range of settings, and the best part is that RC Crew Chief gives you clear numbers, as well as graphical representations for every change you make. It has to be said that the program covers everything that goes into RC cars. You can tune the suspension, springs, shocks or ARB, the steering, gearing, damping, weight transfer, dynamics and many others. You can make changes all the way down to the angle of the shock absorbers, and each of this change, no matter how small, will yield different results in total numbers or graphs on the same interface.
RC Crew Chief includes a series of calculators as well, which help you figure out how your car might handle with the new settings. For example, you can perform calculations to see where the center of mass will end up, see how the anti-roll bar will behave and so on. You can run all sorts of simulations on 1/10 scale 4WD RC cars, but you can use it on other models as well, as long as they have independent suspension because the same physics apply to them as well.
RC Crew Chief gives you the possibility of fine-tuning your RC car with pin-point precision, to make it win any race.
Pros:
You can simulate any RC car settings. The software provides you with clear numbers, accompanied by charts and graphics. It works for all 1/10 scale RC cars with independent suspension.
Cons:
The program does not support asymmetric suspension or live axle RC cars.
